SUMMARY:
A Vacancy exists for an Accountant in the Finance Division - Support based in Head Office - Centurion

The suitable candidate’s main responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

POSITION INFO:
Manage daily treasury operations and banking activities with the Bidvest Group. Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with statutory requirements and deadlines. Compile and submit quarterly risk reports, highlighting key financial and operational risks. Review petty cash reconciliations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies. Maintain company bank accounts, including account administration and banking documentation. Process and monitor purchase order requisitions in line with procurement policies and budget controls. Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring the integrity of financial records. Prepare monthly income statements and analyze financial performance. Compile and submit statistical reports to Statistics South Africa (Stats SA). Prepare and review intercompany reconciliations, resolving outstanding variances and balances. Review and approve requisitions to ensure compliance with financial controls and authorization limits. Prepare flash reports, providing timely insights into financial performance and key business metrics. Respond to and support ad hoc financial, operational, and management reporting requests. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Support compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency. Preferred qualifications\/attributes\/skills: Grade 12 or equivalent qualification. BCom (Accounting) qualification or degree will be advantageous or studying towards. Relevant experience as an accountant. Treasury & Cash Management Financial Reporting & Analysis VAT & Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Balance Sheet Reconciliations Intercompany Accounting Budgetary & Procurement Controls Stakeholder Management Process Improvement Attention to detail MS Office programmes proficiency required. Above average Excel skills is a MUST. Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record. Ability to work under pressure.
