BCom Accounting degree.
SAIPA registered.
IFRS experience.
4–5 years’ post-articles experience.
Bilingual (Afrikaans and English).

ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Accountant will manage key accounting functions, including month-end processes, reconciliations, fixed assets, tax and financial reporting. The role will ensure accurate financial information, strong internal controls and compliance with accounting standards.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements: BCom degree in Accounting. SAIPA registered. 4-5 years' post-articles accounting experience. Good knowledge and practical experience with IFRS for SMEs. Experience with fixed assets, tax, financial statements, audit preparation and balance sheet reconciliations. Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Experience with an ERP or financial system. Knowledge of CaseWare Financial Statements software. Good Afrikaans and English communication skills. Personality Traits: Analytical and detail-oriented. Duties and responsibilities: Execute month-end and year-end processes and prepare GL journals. Process provisions, amortisation and closing journals. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and GL accounts. Reconcile and manage creditor and debtor accounts. Review payments, bank transactions and cash reconciliations. Manage bank, credit card and debit order administration. Monitor cash flow and perform relevant reconciliations. Maintain the fixed asset register for accounting and tax purposes. Calculate depreciation and capitalise projects in progress. Coordinate fixed asset counts and review useful lives, residual values and accounting assumptions. Assist with tax compliance and statutory submissions. Prepare annual financial statements and audit documentation. Support the annual external audit process. Prepare Statistics South Africa returns. Assist with budgets and financial projections. Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal policies and financial controls. Identify financial risks and assist with corrective action. Assist with improving financial processes and systems. Provide support to operational departments on financial queries.
