Our client in the construction industry is seeking an Accountant for a 3 month fixed term contract, to join their team.
The accountant will play a key role in supporting the financial management and reporting functions across multiple entities within the Group. The incumbent will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information, assist in streamlining operational processes, and provide management with meaningful financial insights to support decision-making.

Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial packs for presentation to partners and management.
- Compile audit files and support external auditors during annual audits.
- Maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Oversee cashbook processing, reconciliations, and daily cash flow monitoring.
- Manage banking for smaller group entities, ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
- Ensure all receipts, payments, and petty cash transactions are recorded and reconciled.
- Manage and renew all fleet and business licenses to ensure full compliance with statutory and operational requirements.
- Monitor, reconcile, and report on intercompany transactions and balances across multiple entities.
- Assist with creditor reconciliations and processing for smaller suppliers and accounts.
- Support the procurement and accounts payable processes where required.
- Prepare and analyse statistical and financial reports to identify trends and assist management in planning and budgeting.
- Assist with cost analysis and value improvement initiatives across business units.
- Provide accounting and administrative support to the three partners on ad hoc projects and business requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- BCom Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification (BCompt or BCom Accounting).
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within the construction, manufacturing, or building materials sector.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage, Pastel, or Xero).
- Experience with intercompany and multi-entity accounting advantageous.
