POSITION INFO:

Job purpose

To oversee INDUSTRIAL accounting and reporting in the region (Durban) for Industrial
Duties and responsibilities

Ensure accuracy of monthly accounting â€“ ensure that financials and projections are
reported accurately in the region.
Oversee and provide guidance and support to Creditors Dept.
Authorize Petty Cash, Municipal Accounts & Supplier payments on Nicor.
Review results for each property each month, including balance sheet reconciliations.
Attend monthly portfolio meetings and ensure that all queries are timeously resolved.
Ensure that accounting policies are in line with sector guidelines and that they are
consistently applied in the region.
Oversee reporting on co-owned properties, joint ventures & serve as Trustee on Body
Corporate.
Review adjustment accounts on purchase and sale of properties and clearing of balance
sheets.
Assist in budget and annual audit process.
Liaise with Utilities department on municipal and rates queries to ensure they are
timeously resolved.
Attend to ad hoc requirements of Asset manager, Sector Head or Fund accountant.
Attend to VAT Returnâ€™s where necessary.

Experience & Qualifications

5 yearsâ€™ experience post qualification in accounting, preferably in the property industry.
Good knowledge of property accounting principles.
A Bachelorâ€™s degree with accounting 3 would be advantageous.
