Job purpose

To oversee INDUSTRIAL accounting and reporting in the region (Durban) for Industrial
Duties and responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of monthly accounting – ensure that financials and projections are
  reported accurately in the region.
• Oversee and provide guidance and support to Creditors Dept.
  Authorize Petty Cash, Municipal Accounts & Supplier payments on Nicor.
• Review results for each property each month, including balance sheet reconciliations.
• Attend monthly portfolio meetings and ensure that all queries are timeously resolved.
• Ensure that accounting policies are in line with sector guidelines and that they are
  consistently applied in the region.
• Oversee reporting on co-owned properties, joint ventures & serve as Trustee on Body
  Corporate.
• Review adjustment accounts on purchase and sale of properties and clearing of balance
  sheets.
• Assist in budget and annual audit process.
• Liaise with Utilities department on municipal and rates queries to ensure they are
  timeously resolved.
• Attend to ad hoc requirements of Asset manager, Sector Head or Fund accountant.
• Attend to VAT Return’s where necessary.

Experience & Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience post qualification in accounting, preferably in the property industry.
  Good knowledge of property accounting principles.
• A Bachelor’s degree with accounting 3 would be advantageous.
