Purpose of the job:
This hands-on technical role requires significant, recent experience within a UK public practice environment.

 
Role Requirements & Qualifications

1. Professional Certification: ACA, ACCA, or equivalent UK accountancy qualification (or equivalent substantial, recent experience in a UK accountancy practice).
2. Core Compliance: Managing UK VAT (including MTD) and UK payroll processing or review (BrightPay preferred).
3. Must have at least 3-5 years’ experience working within a UK Firm

POSITION INFO:
Technical Competencies & Experience: Statutory & Unincorporated Accounts: Prepared compliant UK financial statements (FRS 102\/1A, FRS 105) for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships from both complete and incomplete records. Year-End Financial Management: Reviewed ledgers processed year-end adjustments (accruals, prepayments, depreciation), and performed complex balance sheet and payroll reconciliations. Corporate & Personal Taxation: Drafted CT600 corporate tax returns and Self-Assessment filings for individuals, directors, and landlords, including all supporting schedules, claims, and elections. Working Papers & Audit Trails: Maintained comprehensive, cross-referenced electronic working papers, documenting key assumptions and significant judgements. Quality Assurance & Risk Mitigation: Conducted rigorous self-reviews, proactively identified tax risks and financial inconsistencies, and collaborated with UK reviewers to resolve outstanding queries.
