JOB SUMMARY:
A manufacturing group of companies based in the Steeledale area is looking for a qualified Accountant to join their team as soon as possible. This position would suit someone who enjoys a varied and busy role. For the right person, definite growth opportunities exist.

Minimum of five years’ accounting experience in a medium sized organization
BCom is essential, articles or experience at an auditing firm advantageous

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the full accounting function, including;

Daily processing and reconciling of cashbooks and petty cash
Loading of daily payments onto the banking system
Monthly creditor reconciliations
Processing of general ledger journal entries
Preparation of monthly accounts and management pack

Other responsibilities will include:

Calculation and submission of VAT & PAYE returns through the SARS Efiling system
Credit control and resolution of customer queries.

Personal Attributes:

Organisational skills and the ability to multitask
Deadline driven and willing to work overtime if necessary
Good communication skills at all levels (both internal and external)
Strives for continuous improvements in systems and processes
Meticulous, with attention to detail
