Our client a well established organisation with 40+ years experience in manufacturing hydraulic products is seeking the services of an experienced Accountant.

The successful candidate will be responsible for compliance of internal company policies and procedures within the Finance department and compliance of legal and statutory requirements relating to Finance.

Salary: Negotiable

Min Requirements:

B. Com Accounting Degree
Minimum 5 Years’ Experience
Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
Acc Pac experience desirable

Job Description and responsibilities

Overview and review of all internal controls on a periodic basis to ensure continued effectiveness and suggest changes for improvement
General Ledger maintenance
Daily liaison and supervising staff of Financial Department to identify potential issues and take preventative actions
Ensure Financial Department’s timeous processing of their daily tasks
Assist Finance Department staff and provide training where needed.
Fixed Asset Register maintenance
Review monthly recons (Creditors & Debtors)
Reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts to identify possible processing issues.
Preparing of monthly management accounts (and other reports as requested) in accordance with IFRS for SME’s timeously for bank, management and other external users.
Providing monthly management accounts per Branch and company as a whole.
Pricing justification for OEM’s
Liaise with external auditors for annual audits and other financial statement and statutory requirements
Review of key financial ratios (GP %, return on Asset)
Develop and implement 2 weekly cash flow forecasts
Develop and implement quarterly budgets and forecasts with comparisons to actuals
Updating the insurance timeously and assisting with insurance claims.
Assisting Store Manager with Bi-annual stock take, reports, posting etc.
Assisting all Departments with Ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis.
