JOB SUMMARY:
To ensure the provision of a high-quality financial accounting service that supports the effective management of the financial resources, within the statutory and regulatory guidelines. The accountant reports to the Financial Manager and will be responsible for the full accounting duties such as the debtors, creditors, petty cash, banking accounts, statutory and monthly reporting.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualifications and or Experience:

Matric with Accounting
Minimum qualification - Tertiary Qualification in Accounting
At least 3 years’ experience in commerce and industry
Computer Literate – proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel Skills.
Previous Financial software package experience essential

Responsibilities:

Creditors: including processing of invoices, following up with suppliers and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner, Account reconciliations.
Debtors:
Processing payments
Producing statement of accounts collection on overdue accounts account reconciliations.
Banking – processing bank deposits and bank reconciliations
Processing of employee expenses
Company credit card reconciliations
Invoice creation and distribution when required.
Filing and record retention
Keeping and maintaining fixed asset register
General journals – e.g. Depreciation, provisions, interest, salaries, etc.
