Accountant

We have a position available for a Senior Accountant at a leading company in the automotive industry. The successful candidate will contribute towards the achievement of profit target through practicing accurate and timeous bookkeeping.

Requirements:

• Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
• Finance / Accounting degree
• Driver’s license and own transport – able to commute to Sandton / Grayston area
• Microsoft Excel – Advanced
• Motor industry experience will be advantageous
• Accounting system knowledge

Key responsibilities include:

Accurate and timeous capturing of financial transactions:

• Ensure all relevant supporting documents are in place prior to capturing transactions.
• All cashbooks to be captured daily.
• Credit card payments to be allocated on date of payment.
• All management fee invoices to be prepared by the 25th of the month and sent to relevant companies.
• All management fee invoices to be paid by month end.
• All other intercompany invoices to be done within prescribed timeframes.
• Payroll administration/management fee to be invoiced and pulled by the 27th of each month.
• Recovery charges to be completed by the 3rd working day after the 25th of each month.
• Always ensure 100% accuracy.

Accurate and timeous reconciliation of cashbook, income statement and balance sheet reconciliations:

• Daily cashbook reconciliation of all transaction posted for the previous day.
• Monthly signs off’s of cashbooks to be completed by COB on the 2nd working day of the following month after month end.
• Credit card "bank accounts" to be printed and balances to be explained, together with bank recon.
• All intercompany accounts to be reconciled monthly
• Oversee Creditors Function
• Manage Forex Payments
• Manage fixed assets accounts
• Full Debtors function

• Have the ability to plan and prioritise daily work functions.
• Manage the annual site planning and administrative process
