JOB SUMMARY:
Brief job description:

Main functions are to manage the cashbook of the company, post month end journals and compiling a monthly balance sheet recon file. Supporting all the branches and department with Capex and all other General Ledger-related queries.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years experience in similar role
B Com degree in Accounting
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Be proficient in MS excel and word

Skills, requirements and attributes:

Have a sense of urgency
Fluent in English both oral and in writing
Be well organized
Able to work under pressure and in a team
Ability to take ownership and use initiative
Good demeanor & attitude
Must be a self-motivator with a positive proactive attitude.
Attention to detail.
Sage Evolution experience would be an advantage.
Completed articles will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform General Ledger Account Reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items.
Month end journal and entries for month end close off.
Assist in preparing management reports, review actual expenditure against budget.
Perform reconciliations for VAT201 purposes.
Oversee petty cash reconciliations.
Assist in salary reconciliations.
Experience in the transport logistics industry would be a benefit but not essential.
Ensure Compliance with Policies and Procedures where you are involved.
Liaise with all parties related to compliance, auditing and or financial management where needed.
