Accountant (Automotive Dealership) - Gauteng, West Rand

SUMMARY:
Remuneration: R30 000 - R40 000 per month (depending on experience) + Company Vehicle + Fuel + Medical Aid + Pension/Provident Fund
 
Purpose Of The Job:
 
A large, well-established and growing pre-owned automotive dealership based in the West Rand of Johannesburg is seeking an experienced and driven Accountant to join their team.  This position offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious automotive accounting professional who is looking to advance their career, with a strong possibility of progression to Financial Manager in the near future.
 
Please note: Only candidates currently living within a 30 km radius of the West Rand dealership and with the required motor dealership accounting experience will be considered.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities: Manage daily accounting and finance functions of the dealership Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports Reconcile balance sheet accounts and control accounts Manage debtors, creditors, cashbooks, and bank reconciliations Monitor departmental profitability and financial performance Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company procedures Support month-end and year-end financial processes Liaise with auditors, suppliers, financial institutions, and management Provide financial support and reporting across all dealership departments Minimum Requirements: Must reside within 30 km of the dealership Minimum 5 years' accounting experience within a motor dealership environment Strong understanding of dealership accounting and financial processes Experience across all dealership departments Experience with Xero Automotive Accounting Software will be advantageous Candidates with solid experience on other recognised automotive dealer management\/accounting systems will also be considered Relevant accounting qualification will be advantageous Strong analytical, reporting, and reconciliation skills High attention to detail and ability to work independently Motor Industry experience Essential!
