SUMMARY:
Our client in the Agricultural Industry is looking for a Accountant in Grabouw.

The Accountant provides financial clarity, control, and insight to support decision-making. This role ensures financial integrity, compliance, and accurate records, enabling agility, transparency, and long-term sustainability.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process supplier invoices and customer payments; reconcile accounts; manage credit terms; follow up on outstanding balances.
General Ledger & Cash Book: Maintain and reconcile records in line with accounting policies.
Fixed Assets: Track acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation in compliance with standards.
Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns and other SARS documentation accurately and on time.
Month-End & Reporting: Support month-end close, prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, financial statements, and management reports.
Team Support: Review colleagues’ financial work; provide guidance as needed.
Collaboration: Partner with operations, procurement, and management to align processes, track costs, and monitor budgets.
Audit Prep: Maintain complete, organized, audit-ready records and assist with audits.

Requirements
B.Com in Accounting/Finance (essential); SAIPA/SAICA affiliation (advantageous).
5+ years’ accounting or bookkeeping experience, covering the full cycle.
Strong skills in AP/AR, bank reconciliations, ledger maintenance, fixed assets, and tax compliance.
Proficient in accounting software (Syspro experience preferred).
Able to work independently and within a small, high-performing team.
