Purpose of the job:
Main contact for a client portfolio, responsible for preparing management accounts, maintaining trial balances, and submitting VAT and payroll reports on time. It involves coordinating with internal departments to ensure full compliance and delivering accurate, client-facing service under strict deadlines.

Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent required
• BCom Honours in Accounting or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred
• CA(SA) designation or equivalent advantageous
• Minimum of 1 year practical accounting experience required
• Client-facing experience in a professional services environment preferred
• Proficiency in at least one of the following systems: Xero, Pastel, or Eureka
• SARS eFiling experience required
• Working knowledge of VAT Act, PAYE, UIF, SDL, CIPC requirements and 
  annual compliance obligations.

POSITION INFO:
Technical Competencies & Experience:

1. Prepare monthly management accounts for assigned clients, ensuring trial balances are complete, signed off, and delivered timeously to the team.
2. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, debtors, creditors, loans, payroll, and VAT control accounts.
3. Maintain clean, up-to-date, audit-ready client records across accounting systems such as Xero, Pastel, or Eureka.
4. Prepare and submit VAT returns and payroll reports monthly via SARS eFiling, ensuring accuracy and compliance with PAYE, UIF, and SDL requirements.
5. Reconcile VAT and payroll control accounts monthly and resolve discrepancies before month-end close.
6. Coordinate annual compliance processes, ensuring timely completion of AFS, income tax returns, CIPC filings, beneficial ownership registers, ROE submissions, and other statutory requirements.
7. Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships and responding to queries within strict turnaround times.
8. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and seamless delivery of client requirements.
