SUMMARY:
Our client, operating in the Financial Services & Advisory Services space, and based in Moreletta Park, Pretoria, is currently seeking to employ an experienced Accountant to join their dynamic team.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce. Completed internship or 1 Year experience of Financial Reporting and Management. System knowledge in Microsoft Office and Pastel. Experience with loan accounting. Experience dealing with external auditors. South African tax legislation. Companies Act. National Credit Act. NCR compliance requirements. Budgeting and forecasting. Cash flow management. Internal controls. Responsibilities but not limited to: Financial Reporting: Produce management accounts and variance analysis. Support external audits and annual financial statement preparation. General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger. Perform monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts. Maintain the fixed asset register (where applicable). Process month-end and year-end close procedures. Accounts Receivable and Loan Portfolio Accounting: Monitor and process accounting for loan advances, repayments and collections. Ensure accurate recognition of interest income, fees and impairment provisions. Reconcile loan management systems to the general ledger. Regulatory Compliance: Assist with regulatory submissions where required. Liaise with auditors, SARS and regulatory authorities. Tax Administration: Prepare VAT returns. Assist with provisional tax submissions. Ensure PAYE, UIF and SDL reconciliations are completed accurately. Cash Flow Management: Monitor liquidity requirements. Process bank account transactions. Reconcile bank accounts. Internal Controls and Risk Management: Maintain effective financial controls. Recommend improvements to accounting processes. Ensure segregation of duties.
