POSITION INFO:

Our client is a lean, fast-growing commodity trading group specialising in the sourcing and supply of ferrous scrap metal into the South African steel manufacturing sector. The business operates within a high-volume, fast-moving trading environment where precision, speed, and commercial insight are critical.

This is an entrepreneurial, performance-driven environment where decisions are made quickly and execution matters.

As the business continues to scale, a talented Finance & Accounting Professional is required to take ownership of the financial function within a small, high-performing team.

This is a hands-on, broad-scope role with significant exposure to trading activity, cash flow dynamics, and multi-entity financial structures. You will work closely with senior leadership and play a central role in strengthening financial systems, controls, and reporting as the group grows.

Requirements:

• Relevant accounting qualification (CA(SA), CIMA, SAIPA or equivalent preferred)
• 5 years’ post articles experience
• Strong accounting and financial management experience
• Exposure to trading, commodities, logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain environments advantageous
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in high-volume transaction settings
• Experience managing multiple entities and consolidated reporting
• Forward-thinking mindset with an interest in automation, systems, and process improvement
• Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership
