Accountant - Upper Cape Town

SUMMARY:
Are you an Accountant in your early career?

Our client's company in Cape Town continues to grow, and so does the volume and complexity of their financial processes. They are therefore looking to bring on an Accountant to support the day-to-day financial function and help lighten the operational load.

This role is ideal for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in the Food and Beverage sector, across multiple areas of finance in a growing business.

POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENTS

• Matric or similar qualification
• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• 2 years’ post qualification experience in accounting or admin (hospitality/retail preferred)
• Proficiency in Pastel, Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks
• Strong computer skills
• Strong Excel and reporting skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills
• Knowledge of POS systems, VAT, and PAYE compliance is advantageous
• Hours: Monday – Friday | 09:00 – 16:30

• Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile daily cash-ups
• Manage suppliers and supplier invoices, petty cash, and payments
• Administration relating to POS systems
• Support the payroll process and general payroll administration
• Generate reports, and monthly management accounts
• Oversee VAT and PAYE compliance where necessary
• Oversee office administration, contracts, and compliance documents
• Assist with procurement and stock control – placing orders, receiving, checking stock
