SUMMARY:
Our client a dynamic a specialist Group Risk Underwriting Company based in the north seeks to employ an Actuarial Pricing Specialist.

POSITION INFO:

The Company focuses on providing group cover in South Africa.

The Risk Management team is responsible for the overall risk rating for Employee Benefit Risk Schemes. Both new and renewable business across South Afirca

Overall Job Focus – The Company operates in a highly competitive market and the overall purpose of the Actuarial Analyst Pricing role is to ensure business growth and client retention while ensuring profit expectations are achieved. This requires continued engagement with relevant stakeholders and a good understanding of the market space.

KEY OUTPUTS

Review of theoretical pricing quotes and policy wording
Vulnerable schemes management (existing business)
Pricing and benefit design of large/complex new business opportunities
Assist in implementation of strategic project
Assist with technical pricing and produce queries for other business areas and brokers
Responsible for ongoing technical development and maintenance of the quotation system in line with the Company’s IT Strategy including reinsurance treaty changes
Building and maintenance of pricing models

QUALIFICATION EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Actuarial student with progress in CT exams
Alternatively, a candidate with a mathematical or statistical qualification will be considered
Preferred experience in a Group Risk pricing role otherwise a life pricing role
Strong analytical skills
Interpersonal skills
PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Excellent communication (written and verbal)

Policyholders, clients, Brokers, TPA’s, UMA’s
Reinsurers
