POSITION INFO:
Hiring: Senior Actuarial Analyst - Short-Term Insurance A dynamic financial services group is looking for a driven Senior Actuarial Analyst to join its growing Short-Term Insurance team. This role offers a balance of deep quantitative work-extracting data, running non-life reserving models, and supporting SAM\/IFRS 17 deliverables-alongside leadership growth through supervising and mentoring junior team members. Key Responsibilities Data & Modeling: Extract, analyze, and build models using large datasets to support non-life reserving and technical evaluations. Technical Support: Perform routine and ad-hoc calculations for reserving, pricing, and capital management. Valuation Reporting: Assist in drafting technical exhibits and commentary for quarterly valuation reports, SAM returns, and IFRS 17. Supervision & Mentorship: Serve as a technical soundboard, guide workflow, and mentor junior actuarial analysts. Automation: Identify efficiencies in data pipelines and automate calculation models (using SQL, Python, R, or VBA). Key Requirements Education: Degree in Actuarial Science, Financial Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline. Professional Qualification: Good progress toward ASSA\/IFoA actuarial examinations. Domain Experience: Minimum 2+ years of actuarial experience strictly within a Short-Term Insurance (STI) \/ Non-Life environment. Leadership: Minimum 1+ years of supervisory, team-lead, or formal mentorship experience.
