SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Actuarial Data Analyst to join our Governance, Risk and Compliance team, East Rand

POSITION INFO:

This role focuses on analysing risk, building actuarial models, and delivering data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and ensure the financial sustainability of our products.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse data to identify trends and inform decision-making
Support pricing, product development, and profitability analysis
Develop actuarial models for forecasting and risk assessment
Assist with statutory reporting, budgeting, and ORSA processes
Assess financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies
Prepare reports and present insights to stakeholders
Support regulatory and compliance reporting
Collaborate across finance, risk, and business teams

Requirements

Qualifications

Degree in Actuarial Science (SAQA-accredited)
Progress toward ASSA exams (A-series minimum)

Experience

3+ years’ experience in life insurance financial reporting
Exposure to pricing, reserving, modelling, or risk management
Experience supporting actuarial or strategic decisions

Technical Skills

Strong statistical and analytical capability
Knowledge of IFRS 17 / Solvency II (or equivalent)
Experience with actuarial modelling and data analysis tools
Programming / data analytics skills
Power BI, Tableau, or similar (advantageous)
