Actuary (Newly qualified/in progress) Group Risk

Our client, a dynamic Financial Services Provider seeks to employ an Actuary, newly qualified or with good progress towards Final Examinations

Our client a specialist group risk underwriter focussing on the provision of group covers in South Africa. The Actuarial team provides technical support to the business in terms of financial reporting, data analytics and risk management. The growth of the business as well as the increasing focus on reporting in the new regulatory and financial reporting landscape, has necessitated the strengthening of the Actuarial Team within the business.

OUTPUTS

• Delivery of the actuarial aspect of regular financial reporting which includes the regular delivery of reserving and profitability calculations
• Monthly reporting under IFRS4 and IFRS17
• Supporting the transition from IFRS4 to IFRS17
• Actuarial reserving and model developing and driving the testing of any new system developments and system integration
• Reporting to key stakeholders, e.g. Corporate, Reinsurers, Regulator and Binder partners
• Implementation of legislative changes
• Actuarial input for budgeting and capital projections
• Assist in the streamlining of business processes

COMPETENCIES

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Senior (good progress with final exams) student or newly qualified PQE.
• Reporting and technical experience in life office or group risk environment
• SQL experience essential
• Planning and organising skills
• Problem solving skills
• Overseeing actuarial analysts
