Provide interim legal support to corporate clients across technology contracts, telecommunications, data protection, privacy and regulatory compliance. Admitted Attorney - ICT\/TMT Contract Opportunity Location: Johannesburg or Cape Town Contract duration: Typically 3-6 months Working arrangement: Part-time contract, with remote flexibility, client dependant. A global law firm is seeking an experienced ICT\/TMT attorney to provide interim legal support to corporate clients on short-term secondments. Assignments may arise to cover temporary absences, increased workloads or specific projects. This opportunity is suited to an independent consultant, sole practitioner or experienced attorney seeking flexible, part-time contract work. Key Responsibilities Provide interim legal support to in-house legal and business teams. Advise on technology, media, telecommunications, data protection and privacy matters. Draft, review and negotiate technology, telecommunications and commercial agreements. Advise on outsourcing arrangements, cloud services and data-related agreements. Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to business stakeholders. Support governance, compliance and relevant regulatory matters. Integrate quickly into client teams and maintain continuity of legal support. Minimum Requirements Admitted Attorney in South Africa. Minimum of five years' post-qualification experience (PQE). Strong experience in ICT\/TMT, technology law or related commercial law. Proven experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating technology and commercial contracts. Sound knowledge of data protection, privacy and regulatory compliance. Ability to work independently and provide practical legal advice. Availability for a short-term, part-time contract assignment. Advantageous Experience Six or more years' PQE at Senior Associate to Junior Partner level. Previous in-house legal or secondment experience. Exposure to cross-border transactions, outsourcing arrangements, cloud services or data services. Intellectual property consulting or advisory experience.
