SUMMARY:

About the RoleAre you passionate about data-driven decision-making? Do you thrive on uncovering market trends, analyzing economic indicators, and developing strategic insights? We are seeking an Advanced Data & Market Analyst to provide critical insights into the Southern African flat glass market.

In this role, you will support sales and planning teams by analyzing market size, pricing trends, supply chains, and import/export data. Your expertise will enhance forecasting accuracy, optimize sales strategies, and contribute to long-term capacity planning for glass manufacturing.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

Market Intelligence & Forecasting

Establish market size for building glass products in South Africa and neighboring countries.
Develop and refine statistical models to improve short- and medium-term glass consumption forecasts.
Identify leading economic indicators to enhance market trend predictions.

Data & Business Insights

Build and maintain a glass import tracking system for Sub-Saharan Africa.
Conduct in-depth cost analysis of imported glass to optimize pricing strategies.
Benchmark global pricing trends to guide export sales and procurement decisions.

Strategic Planning & Compliance

Analyze market share and recommend strategies to enhance competitive positioning.
Support regulatory compliance by identifying import data anomalies and assisting SARS in targeted investigations.
Develop tools and dashboards for data visualization and strategic decision-making.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications:

BCom with majors in Computer Science and Economics (strong statistical knowledge is a plus).
Grade 12 qualification.

Knowledge & Expertise:

Experience structuring and analyzing large datasets.
Expertise in statistical forecasting, data modeling, and market research.
Understanding of macroeconomic trends and their impact on market dynamics.
Proficiency in data visualization and dashboard development.

Skills & Experience:

Minimum 8 years in an analytical role (sales, marketing, or planning experience advantageous).
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Technical expertise in SQL, Excel, and BI tools.
Excellent communication & presentation skills.
