SUMMARY:
This is a very senior level role where you will manage, count and analyse inventory for the Africa region. This includes the inventory for multiple countries. Please do not apply if you do not have experience at this level of operation.

POSITION INFO:

  • Manage, count and analyse inventory for the Africa region.
  • Monitor and anticipate the rate of sale for each type of product offered to ensure distribution centers and warehouses maintain inventory levels necessary to meet projected sales demands.
  • Analyze Inventory Statistics. This includes performing financial analytics to determine which products are selling the most and which are under-performing Slow Movers.
  • Coordination of slow mover management with country Supply Planners.
  • Market Obsolescence – Monitor and report on progress
  • Manage W&D Distribution Budget and Cost centre management
  • Steering of D&O process across Africa with relevant stakeholders
  • Manage D&O Targets /provisions vs actuals
  • Conduct D&O review – comparison - need vs available - at cluster level & country level
  • Consolidate cluster review
  • Tracking of D&O Actions – Market obsolesces
  • Monthly tracking First expired, first out - FEFO & quality prioritization
  • Work with quality on sampling
  • Provide overview D&O & variances monthly
  • Steer implementation projects related to inventory - FEFO & Automation of D&O requests
  • Count Inventory - perform regular inventory counts and verify the numbers against shipping and receiving logs
  • Inventory Reporting - regular inventory reports detailing inventory counts, discrepancies, and other statistical data
  • Participate in local Sales and Operations Execution and provide key insights on inventory
  • Develop process improvements to achieve company inventory goals.
  • Develop initiatives to reduce slow moving/D&O inventories and to improve inventory turns.
  • Review inventory activities and recommend improvements.
  • Assist in inventory risk assessment and mitigation activities.
  • Coordinate on stock quality data i.e. missing batch numbers
  • Prepare, analyse monthly inventory listing with quality - distribute outcomes to relevant stakeholders i.e. planning, costing and customer service
  • Harmonize conversion factors across reporting within Finance, planning andinventory i.e actual weight, not averages
Experience & Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree
  • MBA preferable
  • 10+ years in Supply Chain, Logistics roles
  • Manufacturing exposure is an advantage
