Agricultural and Development Agronomist

SUMMARY:

An excellent career opportunity exists with our Client within their Research & Development team. The primary responsibility of this role, as Crop Science Agronomist, is to perform field trial work pertaining to crop science research, and Molecule Research and Development.
Location: Northern Suburbs, Western Cape

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary Agricultural qualification, 3 years minimum (Diploma or Degree).
• At least 2 years’ practical experience in field trials for the development of crop protection products.
• Must have code 08 driver’s license.
• Practical disposition with good problem solving, communication, administrative and interpersonal skills.
• Good time management.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Strong leadership abilities.
• Hard and diligent worker.
• Hands-on person with commitment to detail.
• Will be required to travel long distances and be away from home from time to time.

• Establishing trials according to approved protocol including overall trial management: lay-out, execution and evaluation of field trials on all crops.
• Project planning and management.
• Resolving issues on the field and identifying potential opportunities to address needs as required.
• Communicate with co-operator farmers who are willing to have field trials on their farms.
• Correctly identifying weeds, diseases, and pests in the specific crop where trial is applied.
• Evaluating field trials as per protocol and send updates to Senior Management weekly.
• Recording all captured data accurately.
• Reporting to management.
• Control and maintenance of all trial equipment.
