Analyst Programmer

SUMMARY:
This primary purpose of the role is to develop information systems by analyzing client needs, designing, developing and installing software solutions according to sound software design principles.

POSITION INFO:

Education and Experience Required:

• Degree or National diploma in either Computer Science, Information Systems or an equivalent qualification
• Solid experience in Enterprise JavaScript, NodeJS development (minimum 3 years)
• Good understanding of Object Orientation Modeling in an Enterprise environment
• Solid Experience in SQL Development with emphasis on using Stored Procedures in DB2 or having an MSSQL background

Duties and responsibilities:

• Continuously analysing and attending to internal client requirements to develop new or change existing system functionality according to their requirements
• Compile Business Requirement Specifications when required, within agreed timeframe and according to organizational standards
• Compile Function Requirement Specifications for each system change and/or project within agreed timeframe and according to organizational standards
• Develop, test, implement and maintain current systems and create seamless interfaces between the various business systems to ensure optimal data integrity, efficient processing of business data according to management needs, within the agreed timeframe and done according to organizational standards
• Continuously ensure systems development and testing are according to the organizational and sound information standards
• Ensure that all system maintenance projects are planned and executed according to approved project plans
• Analyse and attend to user queries on the organizational Systems to ensure a high availability and efficiency of the system. All this within agreed timeframe and according to the IT SLA
• Resolve all Incidents on Service Desk within IT SLA
• Regularly keep calls on the Service Desk up to date with comments and correct status
• Report on any incidents within agreed timeframe
• Ensure the development and maintenance of appropriate training modules for the required systems
• Develop and maintain system manuals (technical) to ensure continuity in systems development and maintenance
• Train and monitor user competence to ensure all users are trained and competent to utilise systems efficiently
