POSITION INFO:
The role: Designing, developing and supporting trusted business intelligence and analytical solutions that convert business data into clear, actionable insight. The role partners with stakeholders across the Group, to define reporting needs, build scalable Power BI solutions, develop and optimise SQL-based datasets, strengthen data quality, and support sound operational and strategic decision-making. At an intermediate level, the role independently delivers defined BI and analytics solutions. At senior level, the role leads complex workstreams, shapes solution design and standards, mentors team members, and acts as a trusted adviser to business and technical stakeholders. Experience required: Intermediate: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in BI development, data analysis, reporting or data development. Senior: 5+ or more years of relevant experience, including independent delivery of complex BI solutions and stakeholder leadership. Demonstrable experience with Power BI, DAX, Power Query, SQL, dimensional modelling, requirements analysis, testing and data validation. Bachelor's degree or relevant tertiary qualification is preferred Essential Technical Skills Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service, including workspaces, apps, refresh management, gateways and row-level security. Strong DAX capability, including filter context, time intelligence, iterators and performance-aware calculation design. Power Query and M for data profiling, cleansing, transformation and reusable query design. Advanced SQL, including joins, aggregation, common table expressions, subqueries, window functions, views, stored procedures and query optimisation. Dimensional data modelling, star schemas, fact and dimension design, relationships and semantic models. Data validation, reconciliation, root-cause analysis and test design. Advanced Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookup functions, PivotTables and data validation. Strong data visualisation, dashboard design and data-storytelling capability. Clear technical documentation and requirements specification. Advantageous: Data Architecture: Advanced Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and cloud data ecosystem knowledge. Data Development: Coding in Python\/R alongside API, JSON, and flat-file integration skills. BI & Modeling Tooling: Performance optimization using Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, and Power BI. DevOps & Governance: Competency in Git, CI\/CD pipelines, security controls, and data governance. Advanced Analytics: Experience with Machine Learning, predictive modeling and Microsoft certifications.
