A leading professional services firm is seeking an Analytical Specialist to join their Technical Services division. The ideal candidate will possess a balance of statistical acumen, technical curiosity, and the ability to communicate findings clearly. This role will suit someone who is methodical, inquisitive, and thrives in a high-performance environment.

Duties:

Perform structured and ad hoc data analysis to support internal projects and client deliverables.
Work closely with IT and audit teams to gather, clean, and interpret datasets.
Document analytical processes, results, and key findings with precision.
Identify trends, anomalies, and risks through in-depth statistical and visual analysis.
Contribute to the design and automation of analytical procedures and reports.
Assist with training and mentoring junior team members in data techniques and tools.
Support audit or IT audit teams with data-driven insights when required.
Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs and align analysis accordingly.

Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

Matric (Grade 12)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.

Experience:

2 to 4 years of professional experience in data analysis.
Exposure to Python and/or R is advantageous.
Experience in IT auditing is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

High proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Strong analytical and lateral thinking capabilities.
Exceptional attention to detail and documentation skills.
Highly organised, reliable, and deadline oriented.
Self-driven, enthusiastic, and capable of independent work.
Demonstrates integrity and professional discretion.
Effective time management and task prioritisation under pressure.
Strong interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively across teams.
Leadership, mentoring, and client-facing ability.
Comfortable providing training and guidance to others.
Adaptable and able to handle ad hoc responsibilities as needed.
