Essential Skills / Qualifications and requirements;
Firearms Proficiency AND competency certificate:
Demonstrated ability to handle and maintain firearms safely and effectively. Valid firearm competency for business use.
Physical Fitness:
Being physically fit and capable of handling demanding situations.
Mental Toughness:
Possessing the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with others.
Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess situations and determine appropriate actions.
Attention to Detail:
Being observant and detail-oriented to identify potential threats or irregularities.
Knowledge of Laws and Regulations:
Understanding relevant laws, regulations, and safety procedures related to security and firearms.
PSIRA Accreditation:
PSIRA Grade A (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority) accreditation.
Experience:
Previous experience as an armed response officer (3 years) required.
Drivers licence: unendorsed and valid driver’s licence essential
OPERATIONAL SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
Must be fluent in Afrikaans and English
Willing to undergo a polygraph and have criminal record vetted
Will be required to work shifts, including night shifts, and be available for call-outs.
May need to operate security equipment, such as CCTV systems.
Should be committed to upholding the law and maintaining a professional image.
Key Responsibilities:
Rapid Response:
Swiftly react to security threats, such as alarms, suspicious activity, or emergencies, and taking appropriate action.
Patrol and Surveillance:
Conducting regular patrols to monitor designated areas, identify potential security risks, and deter criminal activity.
Emergency Situations:
Handling various emergency situations, including break-ins, medical emergencies, or fires, by providing immediate assistance or contacting relevant authorities.
Asset Protection:
Safeguarding valuable assets by preventing theft, damage, or unauthorized access as well a incident trend patterns observed.
Incident Reporting:
Maintaining detailed records of incidents, actions taken, and any relevant information for future reference.
Communication:
Must be fluent in Afrikaans, English and another national language.
Effectively communicating with clients, local community, colleagues, and law enforcement to ensure a coordinated response and maintain situational awareness.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Ensuring the company vehicle is well-maintained and up to date with its service plan.
