JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Role:
We are looking for a Artisan for one of our top Manufacturing clients based in Port Elizabeth.Â

- Must be a qualified Artisan (Boilermaker/Toolmaker)
- Minimum 3 years post apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing environment where welding is the core business
- Computer literate (MS Excel, Outlook).
- Must be prepared to work shifts and/or overtime at short notice that could require weekend duties

Skills and Experience:
- Maintenance of vending machines.
- Programming of Vending machines.
- Perform cycle counts for all vending machines.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis and Reverse Engineering of parts deemed to be salvageable.
- Initiate possible rework and building of all and any items identified as potential cost saving initiatives including and not limited to:
- Welding harnesses
- Welding torches
- Welding Remotes
- Sharpening of drill bits
- Welding nozzles
- Welding tips
- Flanges (stud removal)
- Gaskets
- Testing and providing feedback on new consumable products.
- Sorting and controlling and processing of scrap from reworks.
- Ensure all work performed meets required quality standards.
- Meet and maintain rework outputs.
- Accurately record daily savings and report weekly on said savings
- Maintain and present accurate monthly records of savings from the cost center.
- Clean and maintain an orderly work area.
- Communicate effectively with other workers to direct personal workflow.
- Other duties as deemed necessary and requested by the Supervisor
- LN, BAAN or MRP system knowledge (advantageous)
