JOB SUMMARY:
A dynamic and energetic Assistant Accountant required to join an Accounting and Tax firm located in Durban.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements:

Matric
BCOM Accounting or similar qualification
Preferably SAIPA accredited
Pastel preferable
Work experience in a similar role will be an advantage
Good/Advanced Excel Skills
Self-motivation and well organised
Accuracy and integrity of financial information
Advanced computer skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
High level of numeracy
Analytical thinking
Team Player
Ability to manage and coach junior staff
Work well under pressure
Deadline driven

Duties & Responsibilities:

Liaising with clients for various types of assignments e.g., monthly bookkeeping and VAT etc.
Monthly standing journals
Analysis and management of information up to a Trial Balance Level
General ledger to trial balance to management accounts
Ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data capturing
VAT submissions and preparation of VAT review documentation
Perform general accounting support tasks
Preparation of reconciliations for month-end processes
Maintenance and development of controls
