A leading organisation is seeking an accomplished Assistant Company Secretary to join its high-performing governance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of best-in-class corporate secretariat services. The successful candidate will step in as second-in-command, ensuring the seamless execution of the company secretarial function while advising the Board and senior leadership on legal, ethical and regulatory matters.

Working closely with the Company Secretary, this role is central to the smooth running of Board and committee meetings, the implementation of governance processes, and the oversight of compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations, including the Companies Act and King IV.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• A postgraduate qualification in law, finance, audit or a related field
• At least 7–8 years of hands-on experience in a company secretariat function
• Proven experience advising Board members and senior executives
• A strong command of corporate law, governance frameworks and public finance regulations
• Familiarity with working in a highly regulated environment, preferably within financial services or a state-owned entity
• Experience with stakeholder engagement, committee support, and policy implementation will be key, along with the confidence to deputise in the absence of the Company Secretary.
