SUMMARY:

A well-established and growing organisation based in Sandton is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Manager to join their finance team. This role is ideal for a technically strong accounting professional who is looking to take the next step in their career, supporting the Financial Manager across reporting, compliance, controls, and team leadership responsibilities.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements Completed Articles (SAICA, SAIPA, or equivalent) 5+ years post-articles accounting experience Completed BCom Accounting Degree or Accounting Diploma Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, and financial reporting standards Advanced Excel skills Experience with ERP\/accounting systems Previous experience supervising or mentoring finance staff will be advantageous Key Responsibilities Assist the Financial Manager in overseeing the day-to-day finance function Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports Manage month-end and year-end reporting processes Review reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial data Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Ensure compliance with VAT, tax, and statutory requirements Support annual audits and liaise with external auditors Monitor and strengthen internal controls and financial processes Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making Supervise, mentor, and develop junior finance team members Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and interpersonal skills High attention to detail and accuracy Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Strong organisational and time management skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Proactive, hands-on approach with a strong sense of accountability Excellent verbal and written communication skills What's On Offer Opportunity to join a reputable and growing organisation Exposure to a dynamic and fast-paced business environment Career progression into a Financial Manager role Competitive salary and benefits package If you have completed your articles, possess strong technical accounting skills, and are looking for an opportunity to grow into a senior finance leadership role, we would love to hear from you.
