JOB DESCRIPTION:

This JSE listed company is looking for a newly qualified Chartered Accountant with sound knowledge of the insurance industry to take on the role as their Assistant Financial Manager at their offices in Johannesburg North. The successful incumbent must be able to work under pressure, adhere to strict deadlines and deliver efficient and quality work. Education:

Qualified CA(SA)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Preparing budgets & forecasts
Reviewing /preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Monthly processing /reviewing draft trail balances
Preparing annual financial statements
Preparing monthly reports and analysis thereto
Presenting reports to executive members
Understand the risks affecting distribution channels and assist with implementing appropriate systems to mitigate these risks
Review daily payments and detailed analysis of supporting schedules
Ad hoc reports and tasks (e.g., involvement in IFRS17 implementation)
Assist with annual audits

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Knowledge of the Insurance industry will be advantageous
Financial services experience for at least 2-5 years’ post-article is advantageous
Proficiency in Microsoft suite
IFRS technical knowledge
Pastel will be advantageous
