To implement the Head Office policies issued by internal control and compliance department.

To complete Head Office reports including AML & internal control & compliance progress/issue of the branch.

To provide support & training for AML and Compliance teams, as well as other departments in relating to Head Office relevant policies and systems.

Client Details

Assistant Manager: Mandarin to English Translator will be employed by a foreign large-scale joint stock commercial bank to be based in Sandton, Johannesburg. Position to be based in the office on a full-time basis.

Description

Assistant Manager: Mandarin to English Translator will be responsible for:

To implement the Head Office policies issued by internal control and compliance department.

Translation and guidance

Keep track of HO policies issued by Internal control and compliance department,

translate and provide guidance which require implementation locally;

Translate local policies to HO when necessary.

Internal control self-assessment

Manage the guiding of self-assessment by the Bank in terms of all required

internal controls by Head Office for the branch.

Remediation management

In charge of remediation management of regulatory inspection and internal

control assessment, to ensure the remediation is effective and timeous

completed.

Policy management

Set standard for policy establishment, amendment and repeal. Maintain the

policy register. Upload our own policy and procedure onto HO policy platform.

Give feedback to departments about policy updating/uploading progress.

Employee management

Setup adaptable local policy of employee behaviour management and

accountability mechanism, to reduce violation of regulations and policies.

Incompatible post management

Establish and implement local requirements for incompatible post management.

To complete Head Office reports including AML & internal control & compliance progress/issue of the branch

AML reporting

Annual AML management report;

Annual institutional money-laundering risk assessment report;

Annual institutional sanction risk assessment report;

Other HO required AML reports.

Internal control and compliance reporting

Compliance Express;

Internal control self-assessment report;

Annual Compliance KPI assessment report;

Regulatory inspection result report;

Remediation report of regulatory inspection and internal control assessment;

Other HO required internal control and compliance reports.

HO Compliance platform reporting

Quarterly AML statistics;

Quarterly compliance indicators;

Regulatory communication;

Regulatory inspection;

Institutional information

Other

HO ad-hoc surveys;

Compliance weekly report;

Monthly Operational Management Forum material preparation;

Quarterly RCICC meeting material preparation;

Reports required by other department. E.g. monthly business management report, overall risk management report;

Speech draft in relating to compliance function.

To provide support/training for AML and Compliance teams, as well as other departments in relating to Head Office relevant policies and systems.

Digitalization

Promote digitalization of compliance department (automation of manual process).

Communication

Assist compliance department with communicating with Head Office;

Assist teams communicating with other departments if necessary;

Apply for passport copy when HO board of director changes.

Projects assistance

AML - Migration of HO AML systems and adaptable HO compliance systems, tuning of HO AML and compliance systems;

Compliance - make use of HO policy/system/experience to assist the conduct risk(treat customer fairly) project, POPI compliance project, etc.

Admin

Assist compliance officer with draft and keep track of department's budget;

Management of the department's payments to vendors.

Profile

The Assistant Manager: Mandarin to English Translator MUST BE ABLE TO TRANSLATE MANDARIN TO ENGLISH FLUENTLY (MAIN LAND CHINA / NOT TAIWAN)

Essential qualifications and skills:

Bachelor's degree

  • Excellent Chinese and English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Good time management skill

Advantageous:

  • Banking/Financial services experience
  • Banking industry knowledge
  • Legal knowledge
  • AML knowledge

Job Offer

Annual CTC of between R500,000.00 - R600,000.00
