SUMMARY:

Senior Associate Attorney – Commercial Litigation & Insolvency (5–8 Years PQE)

Location: Sandton
Salary: Market-related (Dependent on experience)

A reputable law firm is looking to appoint a Senior Associate with strong commercial litigation and insolvency expertise. This role is suited to a candidate with in-depth knowledge of insolvency law and the Companies Act, who can take ownership of complex matters.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing complex commercial litigation and insolvency matters
Handling liquidations, business rescue, and related proceedings
Drafting advanced pleadings, applications, and legal opinions
Attending to High Court appearances and representing clients
Advising clients on insolvency, restructuring, and Companies Act matters
Developing litigation strategies and overseeing junior team members

Requirements:

LLB degree
Admitted Attorney with High Court right of appearance
5–8 years’ post-admission experience in commercial litigation
Strong experience in insolvency, business rescue, and restructuring
Solid understanding of the Companies Act
Proven track record of court appearances and managing matters independently

Key Competencies:

Strong leadership and mentoring ability
Excellent drafting and problem-solving skills
Commercially astute with strategic thinking ability
High level of professionalism and client engagement
