Audit Manager

One of South Africa’s largest insurance companies is looking to expand and welcome a new Audit Manager to their team.

JOB & COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Assist in determining the audit plan as well as determining resource needs.
• Manage and conduct the overall financial control audit engagements to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality work, reports and value-add recommendations.
• Develop a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the overarching risk universe, processes and associated internal controls, issues, pertinent regulations and risks associated with the engagement scope.
• Assess the design adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment.
• Identify control gaps and opportunities for continuous improvement and relate it divisionally and enterprise-wide, as appropriate.
• Perform audit work and analysis on complex internal financial control audit areas and other assurance engagements as and when required.

EDUCATION

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

• Relevant BCom Honours degree
• CA(SA) qualification required
• Completed CIA, PIA or CFSA certification will be advantageous

JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

• At least 5 years related experience, of which 3 years in an internal / external audit or financial accountant related role will be advantageous.
•  Experience in banking or insurance industry would be an advantageous
