We have a great career opportunity for a Australian Tax Manager to join a leading financial services group in Johannesburg. This is a key role within the finance team and encompasses managing the Group’s tax affairs. If you have 5+ years’ experience in taxation/ business services are able to work both independently and in a team environment, this job could be perfect for you!

Your key job responsibilities as the Australian Tax Manager in Johannesburg will include:

Managing the Tax compliance and advisory requirements for the group
Lodgement of annual corporate income tax returns including monthly payment of income tax with the ATO and IRD
Liaise with external taxation advisors and assist with the review of tax return, GST returns, transfer pricing calculations and FBT returns
Manage tax reviews, audits and other communications with the ATO, NZ IRD and State Revenue Offices
Providing tax advisory services to all business functions as required
Maintains tax balances on general ledger and oversees reconciliations
Identify ways of improving the efficiency of tax compliance and accounting processes
Support the half year and full year tax effect accounting and group audit and tax requirements
Assist with other ad hoc tasks and drive process improvements
Working collaboratively with all Finance functions and the wider business

Requirements for this Australian Tax Manager job in Johannesburg:

Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA)
This role is ideal for a candidate working in a big 4/mid-tier business services or corporate tax area who is looking to move into industry
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in taxation / business services
Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills
Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team environment
Excellent trouble shooting/problem solving abilities whilst working under pressure
Exceptional organisational and priority setting skills to be able to work in a fast-paced environment
This role requires attention to detail and a “hands on approach”
