Opportunity for an Auto Electrician to join the mechanical team in JHB Eastern Suburbs on a Contractor basis. Must have 3-5 years experience, work on heavy-duty trucks, and plant equipment. Strong diagnostic skills required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install new electronic components on vehicles, trucks, and plant equipment

• Fault-finding and Diagnose problems with electronic components in vehicles, trucks, and plant equipment

• Maintain and repair electronic components

• Utilize a wide variety of tools to diagnose, maintain, and repair parts efficiently

• Test and repair starters, alternators and charging systems, lights, indicators, break lights, and trailer plugs

• Operate all tools and equipment safely, in compliance with health and safety standards

• Fault finding of electrical systems through visual inspection and relevant tools

• Maintain a clean working environment and work without supervision

• Attend to breakdowns on all sites

• Manual inspection of control modules and connectors

• Repairing ABS/EBS wiring faults, immobilizer wiring, and ignition systems

• Understanding 12V/24V systems on trucks, shorts, open circuits, and bad earths

• Fixing trailer electrical systems, testing charging systems manually

• Planned and unplanned maintenance schedules, hand testing switches, relays, and accessories

• Ability to read wiring diagrams and install extra electrical accessories traditionally
