Automation Design Engineer

SUMMARY:
A leading supplier in machine systems design and manufacturing is on the lookout for their next Electrical Design and Automation Engineering Wizard. Opportunity to join a dynamic and environment to flex your electrical design and automation skills.

POSITION INFO:

Design electrical and automation machine systems

Prepare electrical schematic layouts and electrical drawings

Electrical commissioning of machines including PLC programming

Ensure that electrical and automation control information in the handbook is complete and up to date

Update all documentation to “as-built” status on completion of the machine

Provide technical support during building processes, after-sales support, support on imported machines, and technical support for customers and technicians on-site

Skills & Experience:

Minimum 4-5 years experience in electrical and automation design of machinery and plc programming

Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7 as well as other PLC software packages Allen Bradley

Compact Logix, Delta ISP Soft, B&R Automation Studio

Electrical CAD packages will be advantageous

Preferably E-plan P8

Knowledge and understanding of electrical standards

High level of computer hardware, operating system, and communication knowledge

Computer literate

Ability to work independently as well as function within a team

Willing to travel both nationally and internationally

Qualification:

BSc/BEng/BTech in Electrical/Electronic and Mechatronic Engineering
