An electrical engineering firm in Nelspruit is seeking a highly motivated Automation and Instrumentation Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, installation, and maintenance of equipment used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery, and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement control systems for industrial processes.
- Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and automation equipment.
- Develop and program PLCs, SCADA, and HMI systems.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and process engineers.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in automation and instrumentation in an industrial setting.
- Proficient in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.), SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols.
- Strong understanding of sensors, actuators, and process control systems.
- Knowledge of safety standards (e.g., IEC, ISA, ISO).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
