Applications are invited from suitably qualified & experienced candidates to fill the Component Engineer position in the Component Engineering Department - Product Development (Kariega) Job Summary The Component Engineer ensures products meet market requirements through the design, development, testing, and release of locally manufactured and adapted components. The role supports product quality, safety, reliability, cost optimisation, and customer satisfaction for local and export markets. Possible Tasks within this Role Design, develop, test, and release components in line with the company standards.Adapt Group designs to African market and environmental conditions. Apply preventative and corrective engineering tools (e.g. DFMEA). Ensure quality, safety, and reliability compliance before production release. Prepare and maintain accurate engineering and technical data. Manage engineering changes in line with production build levels. Support production, localisation, and cost optimisation initiatives. Participate in cross-divisional projects and technical forums. Qualifications & Experience requirements National Diploma\/Btech\/BSc\/ BEng in Mechanical \/ Mechatronics Engineering Minimum 1-3 years' relevant experience in the automotive or a similar engineering field, covering development, testing, and\/or project managing of components and\/or systems. Component\/system development and testing experience. Exposure to engineering data systems and cross-functional teamwork. Knowledge of project management principles. Self-motivation, good time management, report writing and presentation ability. The ability to work and communicate effectively with people at all levels. MS Office computer literacy.
