Remuneration: Annual CTC of around 750k – 950k (inclusive of company vehicle, medical aid and provident fund) + Quarterly FM Incentive scheme TBA

Purpose Of The Job:

Our client is looking for a strategic and results-driven Automotive Financial Manager to lead the financial operations of a dealership. This role is responsible for managing financial planning, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and risk management. The Financial Manager will provide financial leadership to support the dealership’s growth and profitability while ensuring full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Duties:
Financial Leadership & Strategy

Oversee the dealership’s financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decision-making and profitability
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls
Evaluate financial performance and make recommendations for improvement

Accounting & Reporting

Supervise the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes and management accounts
Review and approve all reconciliations (bank, vehicle stock, debtor, creditor, VAT, etc.)
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements

Compliance & Audit

Ensure full compliance with tax laws, VAT submissions, and dealership regulations
Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies
Monitor adherence to internal controls and implement improvements as needed

Operational Oversight

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including cash flow, vehicle funding, stock costing, and interdepartmental transactions
Work closely with departmental managers (Sales, Service, Parts) to optimize financial performance
Manage risk by evaluating business processes, contracts, and expenditures

Team Management

Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, including accountants and clerks
Ensure staff training and development for improved financial efficiency
Conduct performance reviews and support a high-performance culture

Requirements / Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA, SAIPA, or similar)
3-5 years in a related position as Financial Manager in a dealership environment
Experience in multi-franchise or group dealership operations
Proven experience in a senior financial role within the automotive dealership industry
Understanding of vehicle funding, VAT, and manufacturer reporting requirements
Strong knowledge of financial management, stock control, and regulatory compliance
Proficiency in dealership management systems (e.g., CDK/Kerridge, Autoline) and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
Motor Industry experience ESSENTIAL!!
