Automotive Tooling Engineer

SUMMARY:
Further your career with a market leader and utilise your National Diploma or Degree, in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, to the full. At least 3 years' experience in Automotive Process Engineering combined with Trim Chassis and Final Line Torque Integrity Strategy for continuous improvement, is essential.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications required

• A National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engeering
• At least 3 years within the Automotive process engineering industry

Key Responsibilities:

To perform and implement Trim Chassis and Final Line Torque Integrity Strategy for continuous improvement to achieve SQDCPME objectives

• Review and achieve objectives to target for Team Managers ME scorecard
• Attend all meetings laid out in the Fastening system Engineer T&D, and adhoc meetings as per business requirements.
• Deliver on assignments on time that are assign during these meetings.
• Implement new standards which are issued.
• Confirm and maintain current standards that are in place.
• Ensure team members are adhering to all the standards at all times
• Drive continuous improvement by initiating better power tool methods.
• Manage changes in area of responsibility (MTC)
• Develop highly competent and motivated people.
• Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks.
• Lead in One (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills.
• Raise and close GPA in area.
• Investigate all white alerts, PIC room concerns and implement ICAs and PCAs.
• Maintain Control plan.
• Close all Aims issue within allocated time
• Investigate stations with repeating torque issues.
• Torque control and joint reliability coordination.
• Handling all tools in plant (DC and Pneumatic).
• Drive my personal development (LDEP/IDP etc), to enhance one’s own skills and experience in order to achieve or exceed job requirements and achieve own personal aspiration and goals
• Manage Torque integrity assurance program including TPPS (VOPFAG 241).
• Control the tools budget
• Review the torque strategy and ensure it is as per illustrations.
• Manage a team of Technicians and Torque Surveillance Inspectors
• Manage the handling, repair, procurement, evaluation and control of power tools in plant
• Establish torque routes from GSPAS reports.
• Ensure Calibration of Datamytes and transducerized torque wrenches.
• Ensure 110 ± 20% residual torque stops
• Write Torque Concern Notices (TCN''S) per VOPFAG 241 procedure
