Avaya Engineer - Contract

Our Client a Global Tech firm is seeking an Avaya Engineer to join their team in Johannesburg on a Contract Basis. They offer stability, growth, attractive rates and a great working environment.

The Avaya Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of our network equipment. Performs IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging, and implementation of

applications programs supporting the company infrastructure business processes and operations and/or network-based (cloud) product systems.

Analyses, installs, acquires, modifies, supports operating systems, databases and utility software. Plans, conducts, and directs the analysis of business problems with automated systems solutions. Analyses, designs, acquires, and implements projects for LAN and/or WAN systems. May contribute to the development, testing, evaluation, or design of system or infrastructure architecture used throughout the IT solution.

Requirements

1. Proactively monitor the work queues and provide support to clients where the ticket is highly technical or sophisticated in nature
2. Avaya Aura Systems Manager (versions 7, and 8 benefit if experienced in 10)
3. Avaya Aura Session Manager (versions 7, and 8 benefit if experienced in 10)
4. Avaya Aura Communication Manager (versions 7, and 8 benefit if experienced in 10)
5. Avaya Proactive Outreach Manager (POM)
6. Provide forth level support to all escalated incidents, requests and identify the root cause of incidents and problems, respond to tickets where third line engineer teams were unable to fix the problem
7. Ensure that the shift handover process highlight any key escalated open tickets to be
8. focused on along with a handover of upcoming operation critical tasks to be carried out in the next shift
9. Support, track, and document change implementation
10. Timely escalation of all tickets to management with ensuing updates, where applicable
11. Proactively identify, contribute, implement and work with automation teams for effort optimization and automating routine tasks
12. Systematically gather relevant information and apply technical knowledge to analyze and use highly technical troubleshooting tools and content and analytical practices
13. Use operational and diagnostic procedures to resolve escalated tickers in unique and complex

Qualifications

1. At least 5 years of experience in the Telecommunications field, with a focus on technical infrastructure and services development.
2. ITIL certification
3. At least one mid-Level certification relevant to CoE - Ex – CCNP for networks, MSCE for Windows Server Data Center CoE (Add MCS and MCSfM certs in this section)
4. Scripting knowledge such as Python, PERL, etc
5. Cross technology skills Ex Windows server L4 along with UNIX or Storage skills.
6. Cisco Certified Network Associate - Routing and Switching (CCNA-R/S)
7. Cisco Certified Network Associate - Wireless (CCNA-WL)
8. Riverbed Certified Solutions Associate - WAN Optimization (RCSA-W)
9. Cisco Certified Network Associate - Security (CCNA-SEC)
