Azure Data Engineer

Permanent

Cape Town (1 Day in office, 4 days remote)

A company specializing in business services using their own technology platform has a role available for a skilled Azure Data Engineer. You will join a relatively small, but established & warm team in a permanent role.

We are looking for an experienced Developer with proven hands-on experience with the Microsoft BI Stack (including SSRS and preferably SSIS and SSAS). Additional skills like Power BI Reporting and Graph Database Experience will be advantageous.

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsible for building, implementing and supporting BI solutions for clients using our deskless workforce platform
Reporting to the Technical Lead, he/she will be responsible for designing and developing software products to implement new features or support current applications
Develop Data Models
Create ER Diagrams and other design documentation
Write relational and graph database queries
Create database objects and maintain referential integrity
Participate in the development and maintenance of Data Lake and Data warehouses
Creating and deploying reports
Provide technical design and coding assistance to the development team
Translating business requirements into technical solutions

Skills & Qualifications Required

Bachelor''s Degree in Computer Science or Mathematics / Statistics advantageous
6+ years of Microsoft BI Stack experience
Azure Data Factory
Azure DevOps
Azure Storage / Lake
Extraction, transformation and loading
Analytics Development
Report Development
Relational Database and SQL
Graph Database (Cosmos DB and Gremlin API or Neo4j) preferred
Practical working experience with Data Structures and Algorithms
Understanding of software development lifecycle
