BBBEE Procurement Specialist

POSITION INFO:

Preference will be given to candidates who are available immediately

Contract period: 12 months

Responsibilities:

• South Africa’s BBBEE Act makes Preferential Procurement a key pillar of the BBBEE Scorecard and therefore requires a local resource who understands the BBBEE legislation and local suppliers as opposed to outsourcing this key function to a Genpact resource based in Cairo
• Preferential Procurement contributes 27 pts to the overall BBBEE Scorecard and is a priority pillar (at least 40% of the points (10 pts) need to be achieved, failing which the measured entity is discounted by a level)
• Localization is a both a strategic business imperative and a business enabler which results in job creation, skills development, technology transfer, cost savings and is a key evaluation criteria for both public and private sector tenders for Healthcare, Renewables and Gas Power Services businesses which requires investment in a resource ahead of the opportunity
• Ensuring maximization of the BBBEE points under the Preferential Procurement Pillar though the localization and transformation of Supply Chain
• Development of BBBEE Supplier pipeline via the identification, screening & recommendation of potential BBBEE suppliers to be placed on Enterprise and Supplier Development program
• Communicating transformation requirements to untransformed supplier and agreeing a transformation timeline
• Contract Management, negotiation of contracts with suppliers and monitoring of KPI’s
• Tracking the Preferential Procurement on a monthly basis, reporting actual performance against targets and scenario analysis
• Collating Preferential Procurement portfolio of evidence for the purposes of the BBBEE Verification and liaison with the Verification Agent

Education:

• BCom in Supply Chain Management

• 4 -5 years of procurement experience
• Sourcing experience especially with regard to BBBEE preferential procurement
