BRANCH MANAGER: PIPES / FITTINGS/ VALVES / PUMPS – WITBANK (4455)

SUMMARY:
Our client requires a candidate with strong trading and management experience in the retail and wholesale pipes, fittings, and valves industry, our client is a leader in their industry and has branches throughout South Africa.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 / equivalent

Experience and Requirements:

• 5 or more years’ retail management and sales experience, within the steel pipes, fittings and valves industry is essential need to specialize in Steel Pipes & Fittings; fire protection; large bore steel pipe; groove and shoulder end steel pipe; fabricated steel pipe). Reselling of these products but also to the end user. Will also include Fluid Control – Irrigation, Pumps, Valves & Flanges will be an added advantage
• Must be bilingual in English and Afrikaans
• Valid driver’s license
• Computer literate – advanced skills in Excel and Syspro would be an advantage
• Of sober habits
• Reside in Witbank or surrounding areas
• Able to work retail hours
• Strong management, trading and negotiating skills
• Able to close a deal and increase market awareness
• A stable work record and have contactable references
• Ensure that there is the correct stockholding to satisfy customer needs and requirements.
• Ensure that stock is replenished.
• Managing of “dead” and slow-moving stock
• Negotiate prices with suppliers on large buyout orders
• Purchase order processing and proper sign off procedure

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Training of internal, retail, and external sales staff

• Assisting with quotations and large orders

• Provide updated supplier lists to staff to ensure product is purchased at the right price from the correct supplier

• Provide staff with weekly specials lists

• Assist internal, retail, and external sales staff in closing deals

• Delegating of duties to sales staff

• Implement change in procedures set by management

• Motivating and managing of sales staff

• Ensure necessary customer service levels are maintained by all staff

• Ensuring that budgeted sales targets are met for internal, retail, and external sales

• Opening and following up on new accounts and loyalty accounts

• Making sure all customer details are updated op the system, should anything change

• Assist debtor’s lady with any account queries

• Processing of invoices

• Ensure that stock is replenished

• Managing of “dead” and slow-moving stock

• Negotiate prices with suppliers on large buyout orders

• Purchase order processing and proper sign off procedure
