SUMMARY:
Manage the Benefits Investigation function, ensuring the provision of professional support services to the surviving dependents/beneficiaries (for informed allocation of benefits) to the correct beneficiaries in compliance with the Fund rules, Section 37C of the Pension Funds Act and related Acts. Manage the provision of administrative services on ill-health retirement and lifelong pension process

POSITION INFO:

The successful applicant duties include but is not limited to:

•Manage internal departmental functions and processes

•Provide input to the strategic management of the section

•Manage the implementation of Section 37C: Dependency investigations for death benefit allocations

•Administer ill-health retirement / lifelong pension benefit applications

•Manage the provision of social services to guardian cases and implementation of Benefits Committee, Board & Medical Panel decisions, requests / referrals for case investigations and social advice from other internal Departments

•People management

•Manage annual budgets & costs

Minimum Requirements:

•Relevant bachelor’s degree, preferably in Social Sciences or related. Registered with professional bodies - where applicable.

•At least 5 years job-related experience, which should include at least 2 years’ experience in a management role. Knowledge of an African Language is an advantage

•Driver’s license
