POSITION INFO:
Berry Product Manager (Agricultural / Fruit)
CPT
Our client, a leading fruit exporter is seeking an experience candidate, with great attention to detail in reporting and ability to cope under pressure. This position reports into Director level.
Relevant Degree + 5 - 7 years working experience within Agricultural / Fruit Industry, with proven experience covering technical, sales and production.
Technical knowledge of Berry production, packing and quality.
Procurement and grower services. / Product management.
European and UK retail experience
Duties will include but not limited to:
Procurement:
Discuss with markets/clients their product needs i.e. To maintain and/or grow the client base
Deciding and matching of demands with available product
Discuss packing requirements and specs with clients Advising Area managers on product required for sourcing (budget)
Understanding the clients and their markets.
Pre-season planning
Costing’s
Operational management: Liaise with supply chain department to ensure optimal route to market. Proactively solve any operational issues from farm to packhouse.
Program management: Area managers and overseas clients i.e. Best options for producers, company and product / Packing programs update every weekly
Promotions: Management of stock levels (FIFO) and dwell times / South Africa / Overseas clients
Price negotiations i.e. Fixed/MG or consignment / Mates checking/sign off - Food Safety
Market reports i.e. To produce reports on a bi-weekly basis for respective market segments
To keep business partners informed Grower payments / Follow up account sales and payments from clients i.e. Invoicing with finance
EBITDA- Compile budget for Berries - Manage EBITDA vs Budget - Manage operational costs. Relationship management - Service i.e. Satisfied business partners
Project management - Ad hoc projects
