POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities:

Operational Planning

• Fine tune, manage and optimize Billing Operations and align the Billing strategy to the business

• Set objectives and targets for Billing

Billing management and operational coordination

 • Management and review of business rules, policies, processes and procedures within the Billing Department, ensuring regular updates for validity and currency

• Manage and optimize bill delivery and bill layout

• Manage and control all end-to-end Consumer bill runs, including intranet and processes

• Manage and control the end-to-end printing and mailing process including report management and ensuring timeous delivery of billing as per SLA

• Manage and control the end-to-end staff billing process – CVE, account management, monthly collections on staff accounts and query resolution

• Proactively identify, analyze and manage bill run problems, putting measures in place to ensure that they do not reoccur

• Manage billing queries, ensuring accurate and timeous resolution as per agreed turn around time

• Retain ownership of the retail billing systems, including functional enhancements, data and system integrity, user assistance and support.

• Manage the fixes of all node to node failures daily, validating reports to eliminate any N2N failure patterns, initiating incident report with IS and ensure resolution and permanent fix. (24hr support to the business in this area)

• Manage system (Globill and CRM) data clean-up

Reporting

 • Compile and present monthly Billing reports

Projects and system enhancements

 • Recommend changes to systems and services based on the analysis of the trends and patterns identified in real-time operational performance data, initiating and managing departmental projects and following up on completion and success of projects

 • Assist Project office / IS with the planning of enhancements and changes to the retail billing system including functional enhancements, new functionality, data and system integrity; communication to business; monthly meetings with business to supply update thereof and roll-out plan

Requirements:

3-year Degree / Diploma in Commerce (Accounting, Information Systems) or related as a minimum

• Post Graduate (Honours) degree will be an advantage

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in area of specialisation; with experience in supervising/managing others

• Experience working in a medium to large organization

  • ICT Experience would be preferable
  • Driver’s license
  • Ability to manage stress
  • 24/7 working environment with tight deadlines to be met
